Default Kids skates brands

Getting my 9 yr old inline skates. I was comparing roller derby to rollerblade. I assumed rollerblade was a better product but I was surprised to see better bearings on roller derby. Selection in stores is pretty weak so it's hard to compare models in person. Is there any significant difference at the lower levels?

The roller derby skates (quads) won't allow you to skate as fast as inline skates. If your 9 year old is considering roller hockey, I'd definitely recommend the inline skates. At lower levels, the bearing difference does not matter as much; but as the skater progresses, then the bearings may need to be switched out. They are very easy and relatively cheap to switch out, so I would never recommend choosing a skate based on the bearings.
